The Quinta
Our quinta is a short two hours drive from both Lisbon and Faro . The house is located 10 km from the still very quiet Atlantic coast . The farm is located on one of the routes of theRota Vicentina and on the local walking route of Cercal.
We settled here in the spring of 2008 and have been working ever since to make it a wonderful place. There is a variety of farm animals around such as goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, rabbits and a guinea pig. The animals all have space and walk in their own pasture. In addition, there are the unavoidable pets in this environment. In this category we have two dogs and two cats. These of course do not come into the holiday home. You can close the terraces of the holiday home for the dogs. (Who are very friendly)
All year round we havefresh fruit from the trees. In winter, tangerines, oranges and lemons. In the spring, cherries, Japanese medlars, peaches, apricots and plums. In the summer pears, apples and figs. In the autumn other apples, persimmons and even more figs.
We have an organic vegetable garden that provides for our vegetable needs and we eat almost exclusively from our own land.
Furthermore, there are cork oaks, olive trees, fruit trees and here and there a stray pine tree.
